Heavily influenced by The Lord of the Rings. The specific scene is at the door of Moria in Fellowship of the Ring. The riddle was solved by Frodo (Speak friend & Enter) Mellon in Elvish.
This knitting pattern is a one skein pattern, fingering weight, by Botanical Fibres (Northern Collection) sock, Heirloom Red. The picture shown for this pattern is the large. Size: (15" wide & 14" tall) for the large and (13" wide & 14" tall) for the medium.
Large: Yarn amount (429 m) approx.
Medium: Yarn amount (333.75 m) approx.
This is a great pattern for a novice to start off with. It looks complicated but is remarkably easy and fun to knit up. An all around fun pattern to work up with your favorite yarn and colour.
Needles: 24 inch long circular, 4.0 mm needles.
Gauge: 22 sts & 24 rows with 4.0 mm needles.
