Jennifer K. Hanrahan

YT&H Welcomes Indie Yarn Dyers

Falling in love with yarn starts with a passion from the makers

Botanical Fibres

  • Est. 2017 Botanical Fibres.
  • BFA 2014.
  • Attended USCAD (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design) where she furthered her passion in the fiber arts.
  • Emma is a life long lover of fibers and nature where she only uses "Traditional" dyestuffs.
  • The dyepot is where all the magic happens and where you find her thoughtfully dyed yarn.
  • You can find Emma at numerous fiber shows surrounded by her family who have supported her on this yarn journey.
  • I first saw Emma surrounded by her yarn at WoolstockEAST in Tatamagouche the summer of 2019 and my love affair started with her botanical creations. Her yarn was so inviting that I thought I'd fall into the softness of her yarn garden. So, when it came time to start my online yarn store, Emma was the first yarn dyer I called.
  • There is so much more I could say about Emma but I hope you all come to love her creation as much as I have.

Lichen and Lace

  • June 2012 a name was born on a whim, it was to be Lichen and Lace.
  • Before moving to the East Coast there was a Yarn store called (Lettuce Knit in Kensington Market Toronto) We are so glad she came out East!
  • I first ran across Lichen and Lace in 2017 on a family holiday where I bought one skein of 80/20 sock (Sunburnt Lobster) and from that moment on I was hooked.
  • Megan further honed her skills at Deanna Fitzpatrick, Rug Hooking Studio, another wonderful yarn store and expert rug hooker.
  • I believe fiber and dying has been a life long journey for Megan and today we see the fruits of her labor in Lichen and Lace.
